MPO 400G QSFP Cable: A High-Speed Solution for Data Center Connectivity

MPO 400G QSFP cable is a type of optical fiber cable that supports 400 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) transmission over multimode fiber (MMF). It consists of a QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable Double Density) transceiver module at each end and a MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) connector that connects up to 16 fibers in a single cable.

  • The QSFP-DD transceiver module has a form factor of 18.35 mm x 92.15 mm x 8.5 mm and supports eight lanes of 50 Gbps each using PAM4 (Pulse Amplitude Modulation) modulation.
  • The MPO connector has a ferrule diameter of 6.4 mm and can accommodate up to 16 fibers in a single row or up to 32 fibers in two rows. The most common fiber types used for MPO 400G QSFP cable are OM3 and OM4 MMF, which have a core diameter of 50 microns and a cladding diameter of 125 microns.
  • The MPO 400G QSFP cable has a minimum bend radius of 30 mm and a maximum tensile load of 100 N.
